Just like all regulated health professionals, dietitians are committed and required to stay on top of emerging research, skills, and techniques. Registered Dietitian, Dietitian, and RD are protected titles in Ontario and anyone using a alternative titles are not registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

The owner of Brant Nutrition, Kim Doyle is a Registered Dietitian and has developed a specialty in pediatrics, eating disorder recovery and healthy living. She uses a weight-inclusive approach commonly known as Intuitive Eating. This approach enables her patients to determine the root causes of physical ailments and unhealthy eating behaviours and address them with intuitive changes to FEEL better physically and emotionally.

Registered Psychotherapists work with individuals, couples and families in individual and group settings. Psychotherapy occurs when the Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and client enter into a psychotherapeutic relationship where both work together to bring about positive change in the client’s thinking, feeling, behaviour and social functioning. Individuals usually seek psychotherapy when they have thoughts, feelings, moods and behaviours that are adversely affecting their day-to-day lives, relationships and the ability to enjoy life.

Kim Doyle became interested in nutrition as a young athlete in high school. She graduated in 2009 from Brescia University College/ University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. Kim completed her Comprehensive Dietetic Internship at London Health Sciences Centre and became a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario in 2010.

Prior to opening Brant Nutrition, she gained 7 years of extensive pediatric experience working as a home care dietitian in Brant County with CBI Home Health. Using her Intuitive Eating approach and mommy skills, she can help with many issues from bottle aversions, delayed introduction of solids, and picky eating to reflux, allergies, constipation/diarrhea, and tube feeding issues.

Kim has completed numerous workshops, webinars, and academic readings on Intuitive Eating and Eating Disorder Recovery. She is a member of Weight-Inclusive Dietitians of Canada. Kim is also under direct supervision of a Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian (CEDRD) Supervisor, to earn her own accreditation as a CEDRD with the International Association of Eating Disorders Program (IAEDP) Foundation.

Melanie is a Registered Psychotherapist-Qualifying with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and she looks forward to working with you! She holds a Master of Education, a Master of Counselling Psychology and has over 25 years experience in healthcare and higher education.

She offers a calm and welcoming atmosphere to counselling sessions, where trust can be built. While she believes in the effectiveness of specific modalities such as, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), she tends to use a variety of evidence-based trauma-informed therapeutic techniques that will be tailored to your individual needs.

Melanie believes you are the expert of your own life and is here to provide non-judgmental, empathic support and guidance along your therapeutic journey. As you work together, her hope is that you will increase your own self-awareness, consider new perspectives and learn to use healthy coping strategies so you can live a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Melanie is passionate about working with families of individuals with eating disorders as well as first responders, and their families. Additionally, she supports individuals, couples and groups that may be struggling with various issues that include but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, eating disorders, relationship and family issues.

Maddison has a Bachelor of Science from Brescia University College and a graduate diploma in Dietetic Education and Practical Training. She has worked in many areas of clinical dietetics including primary care, acute care, and long-term care. Now she brings her expertise to you in areas of digestive health and gastrointestinal disease such as IBS and SIBO, Crohn’s/UC, and Celiac Disease, as well as disordered eating and food relationships, chronic pain management, and more.

Maddison’s favourite part of her job: making nutrition less overwhelming for her patients and helping them sift through endless nutrition information to find what works for them.

Outside of work Maddison loves to cook and explore the local food scene, get out for a long nature walk, and paint.

Emily Opthof, RD has a Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) degree from Brescia University College (University of Western Ontario), and completed the London Health Science Centre Comprehensive Dietetic Internship. She is registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and the College of Dietitians of Newfoundland. Emily has also completed additional post-graduate education in reproductive and sexual health through Pacific Rim College and the University of Alberta. With a weight-inclusive approach to care, Emily helps clients get in touch with their hormones, health, and happiness.
